Record Store Day Is Today....
(10) comments
National Record Store Day is today (April 19th).
"On this day, all of these stores will simultaneously link and act as one with the purpose of celebrating the culture and unique place that they occupy both in their local communities and nationally."
It's important to go out and buy a CD from an independent record store in your area. A list of participating stores can be found here.
Support your local unsigned band or local signed band today. If you live in the Arizona area, head out to Zia Records or Stinkweeds.
Did you know that when you buy a CD from an independent store, it counts as 2.5 albums?

Signings Galore....
(72) comments
The new Top Unsigned list will start to come out on Monday and go through Friday of next week.
But I have been told of a few signings off the list and many contracts on the table. I'm not sure if this is normal for the Spring time but there is a lot of label activity.
Obviously, we do not announce signings until the label or band gives the greenlight. So depending on how many announce after the new list comes out, we might refresh the list, before the scheduled three-month period.
This is your last chance to tell us who you want to see on the new list and please leave a link to their music.
Thanks for your continued, positive support!

According to their blog, This Providence is parting ways with Sean Gasperettie.
According to Sean's blog, his last show with the band is tomorrow night. He also says he is not leaving the band for any "negative reasons, whatsoever." He recently got married and seems to want to concentrate on raising a family.
This Providence will be going in the studio soon. No word on the producing team, as of yet.

In Need Of Sponsors....
(4) comments
Former Top Unsigned band The Widow Jenkins (ex-Emery, ex-Brazil) are hosting their 3rd Annual Rock N' Roll Summer Camp this year.
The camp covers all aspects of the music business but also places campers into band groups so they can perform a concert at the end of camp.
Chris and Bryan of TWJ will be running the camp and are looking for sponsors for the camp. They would like clothing companies, labels, bands (signed/unsigned) and anyone else interested to donate items to the kids of the camp.
If you are interested, please contact them at rnrsummercamp@yahoo.com.
